About CMILab.
The Center for Meditech Innovation LaboratoryFuture-oriented cutting-edge research group
Our laboratory (name was Clinical Pharmacology and Urate Dynamics Laboratory) was established in September 2021 with Cho, Seong Kwon, M.D., Ph.D. who has joined as an assistant professor at the the Department of Pharmacology in the Ajou University School of Medicine, renewed as 'Center for Meditech Innovation Laboratory' in 2024. We joined to 'Korea Government Grant Program for Education and Research in Medical AI' in 2023 to start AI-based disease assessment indicator discovery and new-drug development research project, and 'Korea Bio Research Association' in 2024 to accelerate worldwide cooperative research.
We are actively working on the discovery of the relation between diseases and associative factors (as a disease assessment indicator), especially related on the serum uric acid, a kidney disease, and metabolic malfunction phenomenon, influence of life style pattern, atmospheric environment, and dietary habit by using a large-scale of clinical cohort big-data and ML/DL based indicator discovery technology. According to variety result of research including a in-silico drug screening, drug-metabolome interaction analysis, and assessment of drug effect for huge patient group, We are discovering a new metabolism control effect of existing drug, and developing AI-based digital treatment solutions.
Our goal
We aimed to improve the overall quality of life by developing a society free from chronic diseases caused by unhealthy habits and environmental factors. We are working on the following research:- Investigate metabolism pathway during patients who got diseases to develop a drug
- Identify associations between various disease factors
- Develop a cost-effective diagnostic method for diseases
- Enhance disease prevention guidelines
- Develop a health supplement dietary system to prevent modern diseases
